General hints and tips for :Ranch rush 2

General Tips: Modes and Profiles

  • At the start of the game, you will choose between 3 modes: Casual, Expert, and Freeplay. Freeplay is only available in the Collector’s Edition.

  • The first time you play under a new profile, you will automatically start in Casual mode. Eventually you will unlock the Expert mode. Players who own the Collector’s Edition will also unlock Freeplay mode.

  • You can only have one Ranch of each mode type per profile. If you have been playing in Freeplay mode and want to go back to your Casual Ranch, go to the Main Menu, choose Continue, and then the mode you want to use. If you want to have two Ranches of the same mode type, you will have to play them under two different profile names.

  • However, each new profile starts over again with Expert and Freeplay locked.

  • The Trophy Room is unique to each profile. This means that if you want to win all the trophies you must eventually play all the modes under the same profile. However, trophies do stay with your profile even if you start a new Ranch, as long as you keep playing under the same name.

  • The cut scenes are just for story purposes—you can skip any of them without missing anything you need for game play.

  • The cut scenes are mostly the same in all modes, although there are a few “déjà vu” jokes in Expert mode to acknowledge that you’ve probably already watched the story once.

  • We do not recommend going directly from the Freeplay mode to the Expert mode if you are trying to get the Trophy where you don’t fail any levels, because the Freeplay mode will tend to throw off your rhythm for the timed modes. Instead, play a couple of levels of the Casual mode first, then start a new Ranch in Expert mode.

  • Use the MENU button to return to the Main Menu. This is in the lower left on some screens and in the lower right on the Ranch screen.

  • The game autosaves automatically. If you leave a level before the round is finished, you’ll return to that exact same set-up when you return.

Lost in the City GENERAL TIPS

* There are 2 modes you can choose to play in this game: Classic Mode and Light Mode.

* In Classic Mode you will be able to obtain a higher score but the timer will be enabled.

* In Light Mode you will be able to play without having to worry about a timer. Take your time and enjoy the game; however, you will not be able to obtain high scores like you would in Classic Mode. Beyond bragging rights, a higher score also allows you to buy items from the ’secret store’ in the game, a fun little extra that the game has.

* You can zoom into all areas of the scene by right–clicking your mouse anywhere on the scene. The magnifying glass will automatically show up in the area to which your cursor is pointing. If you want to get rid of the magnifying glass, you can right–click again.

* You can also click on the magnifying glass icon that is in the lower right side of the scene and it will enable the magnifying glass, either method will work. This tool will be very useful in helping you locate hard to see items.

* If you do not want to read the text that pops up in the middle of the screen, you can click the word "next" to get rid of it, but you don’t have to. You can also click anywhere on the scene and the text will disappear. I found it easier to click anywhere in the scene instead of clicking precisely on the word "next".

* You can look at any of the messages that have been shown on the screen by clicking on the message icon that is on the lower right side of the page. It can be useful to read these messages since some of them give you clues for upcoming puzzles.

* The money that you earn throughout the game will allow you to buy ’secrets’ from the store. Go to the main menu and click on the word "secrets" to access that location. This is a fun little section in which you can buy extra mini–games that do not appear in the game. You can also purchase sketches and other things.

* The game has lots of replay value since the objects move around each time you play. Even the key items in the game will not always be in the same location. Keep this in mind when following the walkthrough since there are so many random solutions.

* Once you’ve completed the game you can go back and replay any level you wish. Simply go back to the main menu and select "Choose Levels." It will let you play any of the levels in the game.

* You can replay a level before you’ve completed it. Click on the menu and select "Replay Level." The game will take you back to the beginning of the level you’re currently in. Keep in mind that when you replay a level the objects will not be in the same place. Once you’ve completed a level you will not be able to access it again until after you’ve finished the entire game.

* Once in a while you will be asked to complete a graphical task. This means that you will have to look for items in a scene by looking at a photograph. Graphical tasks are always in the upper right side of the screen.

* At the end of each chapter you will be asked to look for your next location on a map. The only way to know where you have to go is by reading the clue underneath the map.

The Hardy Boys: The Perfect CrimeGENERAL TIPS

* There are over 30 unique scenes that span across 70+ levels. Each hidden object scene contains a list of at least 10 items to find. You can play the game in Timed or Untimed mode.

* There are several puzzles in the game. You cannot skip any of the puzzles, you have to solve them, or you will get stuck in the game. Fortunately, this walkthrough has the solutions to all the puzzles in the game. The puzzle solutions should be the same for everyone.

* From the Options Menu you can choose a variety of settings in the game. You can turn the timer, the music, and the sound on and off. You can choose to play in Windowed or Full Screen Mode. You can also choose to play the game in English, Spanish, or French.

* When you click on several incorrect items in the scene, it will disable your cursor temporarily. You will not be able to click on any items while your cursor has the black “X” on it.

* There is a lot of dialogue in the game. Reading the dialogue does not affect the outcome of the game. You can skip the dialogue by clicking on the “ESC” button on your keyboard.

* Some items in the game are mislabeled. For instance, you may be asked for a watch and the hint may point to a wall clock. Save your hints in case you run across some of these items, they will help you move along in the game.

The Hardy Boys: The Perfect Crime  HINTS

* You are given 3 hints per scene. There is nothing that tells you how many hints are still available to you. Just make sure that you keep count as you use your hints.

* Click on the hint button in the lower left side of the scene, and one of the items on your list will sparkle for a few seconds. The hint sparkle goes away pretty quickly and can be hard to see. Make sure that you are always looking at the entire scene when you click on the hint, or you may miss it.

* Even after using three hints, the game will still allow you to click on the hint button but you will not be able to see the sparkle in the scene.

* Save your hints for the last minute, since there are very few to be had. Some of the items are very tiny in this game so it is best to save your hints for those types of items.

* You will be able to view instructions for a mini-game right before you play it. If you need a reminder of what to do, you can click on the hint button to see the instructions again.

Defenders of Law: The Rosendale File Tips

* You have unlimited hints in the game, but you have to wait for them to recharge before you can use them again.

* The hints take a long time to recharge, so make sure that you use them wisely.

* At the end of every two chapters you will be taken to a courtroom scene in which you need to defend your client with the evidence you’ve collected throughout that chapter.

* If you do not choose the right answers in the courtroom sessions, you will be asked to go back to the evidence room.

* When you see that cursor changes into a hand, it means that you can open or close a cabinet in the scene. You can also open or close curtains and turn on and off a light switch in a scene.

* Some items can be blocked from your view when you open a cabinet, so make sure that you close the cabinets in order to access all the items in the scene.

Build-a-Lot 4: Power Source General Tips

* At the beginning, you can choose from Tutorial Campaign (3 levels) or Main Campaign (45 levels). If you have played previous Construct-a-Lot games, you can skip Tutorial Campaign if you like.

* After you have completed Main Campaign, you will unlock Challenge Campaign (10 levels).

* After you have completed Challenge Campaign, you will unlock Expert Campaign (10 levels).

# You can replay any previous level at any time by using the planner.

# If you have to restart a level for any reason, or you go back to play it again through the planner, the arrangement of lots may be somewhat different, but the key factors will be the same.

# The big new feature is power management! If your neighborhood uses more energy than your power generators provide, you go into a black-out. During a black-out you can still buy, sell, upgrade, add Energy Savers, construct, and demolish. But you don’t collect rent.

# It is possible to get stuck in a black-out that you can’t get out of if you need to repair a power generator and you don’t have enough money to buy the materials to do so.

# Most of the time you will be able to work your way out of a black-out by adding additional Energy Saver features to existing houses, building new power generators, or even demolishing some properties.

# There is a special trophy for going seven levels in a row without a black-out, but it can be very difficult to get the Speedy Efficiency award for the level if you’re also going for no black-outs. So you may have to play some levels twice to get both.

# If you’re going to construct a new house and you’re close to the black-out line, it’s a good idea to make sure you have enough materials to also add Energy Savers to the new house.

# Most houses will be energy neutral if they have three added Energy Savers. If you’re waiting for a power generator to complete, you can still paint, upgrade, demolish, and add Energy Savers even during a black-out, so stay busy.

# Once you start constructing Condos and larger houses you’re going to need a lot of power.

# Shops and recreation facilities also require power.

# If you’re going for the Speedy award on a level, you will generally start out by constructing one large house to sell for cash, a power source, and a large house or shop to keep for rent income.

# The key to this game is multi-tasking. You need to keep workers and technicians busy, and keep power online.

# Try to anticipate material or power shortages and buy what you need ahead of time to allow for continuous work.

# When you hear the black-out siren, you have a few seconds before the generator goes offline. In that time you can try adding more Energy Savers, demolishing a property you don’t need, or building another power source.

# The larger the generator, the more materials it will take to repair, anywhere from 100 to 1,000 units.

# If a generator breaks and you go into a blackout, you will have to repair it before you can complete the level; so once you get to higher levels with more resources, try to keep enough materials in reserve to do a needed repair.

# Apartments appear to require the most energy, but you can make them energy-neutral by adding three Energy Savers.

# Fancy shops require the second most power, and there is no way to make them more energy efficient after they are built.

# It is usually best to wait and buy materials in large lots, 1,000 units at a minimum. The exception is if you need to repair a power facility, or a single rental income property.

# If you need to build a lot of large houses, say four or more Georgians or Apartments, it is almost always more efficient to build several houses first, then go back and upgrade them.

# If a house is damaged, repair it right away, or demolish it if you are just going to build something else there.

# If you are going to build a Recycling Center, wait to demolish houses until it has completed building, and you will get credit for some of the materials from the demolished property.

# The Recycling Center saves you money by cutting the cost of materials in half. You can demolish it towards the end of a level if you have rental properties or sales making lots of cash.

# The Workshop not only saves you money by letting you train workers for half-price; it also provides Lightning Efficiency training which makes your works work much faster. This saves you a lot of time. It’s important any time you have to paint, landscape, upgrade, construct or demolish houses.

# The Garden Center lets you add landscaping which improves Appeal rating and also automatically maintains recreations. This can save you time and money on levels with several recreations, but you can still probably demolish it before the end of the level if necessary.

# The Tech Center lets you train technicians for half price, saving you money, and is also the only way to assign workers to supercharge power facilities.

# Once the workers are assigned, you can demolish the Tech Center and the facilities will stay supercharged.

# However, if you are using the Genius Certificate upgrade to the Tech Center to make the Tech Center works work faster, you will lose that if you demolish the Tech Center.

# The Business Center handles staffing for Fancy shops so you get continuous income. It’s only important on levels where you need a lot of shops.

# Once you get up to level 20, a standard strategy for many levels will be the Workshop First Strategy. Construct a Workshop. Buy Lightning Efficiency training so the workers work faster. Train 3 workers. Construct 1 expensive house, paint it, and upgrade it 2 times. Buy 1,000 units of materials, which will pay for the 3rd upgrade on the cash house and the Recycling Center. Upgrade the house to 3-Stars, then sell it for cash. Construct the Recycling Center. Buy 5,000 units of materials. Construct a power source. Construct another big house and keep it for rent. Then get down to the specific requirements of the level.

# An alternative for levels where you need to build really big houses and you have fewer materials is the Cash Sale First strategy. First train 2 workers. Then build a large house and sell it for cash. Build the Recycling Center. Buy 15,000 units of materials. Build the Workshop. Buy Lightning Efficiency training. Train 2 more workers. Build a large power source. Build a large house/shop for rental income.

# You will use the Cash Sale First strategy to make Speedy on most of the Challenge Campaign levels.

# If you start the level already owning a big house you can upgrade and sell, you just skip that construction step in either standard strategy.

# If you need a lot of cash quickly, upgrade before you add Energy Savers.

# If you are close to going into a black-out, add Energy Savers before upgrading.

# If you are need to finish quickly, try to keep both Workers (who do upgrades) and Technicians (who add Energy Savers) busy, by working some properties with upgrades while other properties are getting Energy Savers.

# In levels where you need to get a high Appeal rating, it will be useful to build a Garden Center early in a spot between two houses where you will eventually place a recreation facility. Use the Garden Center to landscape a number of houses, then demolish it and construct the recreation facility in its spot.

# Recreation facilities (also called "recreations" in the game) add a positive Appeal value for the lot they are on, plus the same amount for any house they influence. So an Amphitheater gives you +25 Appeal when you build it even if it’s not near any houses. Put it between two houses, and it has increased the Appeal by +75, +25 for its own lot and +25 for each of the houses.

# The more houses you will have on a level, the more valuable the painting and landscaping bonuses are towards making an Appeal goal.

# 4 painted and landscaped houses will cancel out the negative Appeal factor of a Nuclear reactor.

# It’s almost always worth buying an empty lot as they become available.

# To view your trophies, you must be in a level, but it doesn’t matter which one. Click on the Trophy symbol in the top bar and the Trophy list will open up. Each Trophy slot is clearly identified so you can see what you have to do to earn it.

# If you really need to buy a specific property and it’s too expensive, you can try putting several of your own properties up for sale and then offering a low-ball price. However, this strategy works best for fast clickers, as it requires a lot of click maintenance to respond to the offers on your own houses.

# In addition, while a house is up for sale it collects no rent, so you may lose more money from lost rent than you gain in low-balling another property.

# If you demolish a power generator at the very end of a level, you will have a few seconds before the neighborhood goes into black-out. If you have made all your goals at that moment, the level will end and you will get credit even though it’s about to have a power failure.

# Demolishing a Nuclear Reactor at the very end of a level can be an important strategy for making an Appeal Goal.

# There are many different strategies that work for every level, so feel free to experiment!

Dream Sleuth General Tips

* Dream Sleuth consists of 18 chapters. Each chapter has between 3 to 6 levels all varying in length.

* There are unlimited hints in the game but you have to wait for it to recharge before you can use it again.

* You cannot skip any of the puzzles or mini-games.

* To use a hint, click on the question mark that is located in the top right side of the scene.

* The hints can be used in some of the mini-games but not in all of them.

* Make sure that you click on everything in the scene. A lot of times objects will not be visible until you open doors, cabinets, windows etc.

* Some sparkly objects will move aside when you click on them. Sometimes they move because they have something either underneath them or behind them.

* Other times they move and you will see nothing there but that doesn’t mean that in another level there might not be something else there.

Virtual Families: Tips

[ courtesy of EazyPlay ]

GENERAL TIPS:

  • Virtual Families is a real-time game; meaning the game is progressing even when you quit the game. Pause the game by pressing the space bar or by choosing the pause option under the options menu.
  • The time in the game coincides with your time. If it's 8 AM your time it's 8 AM game time unless you select the "reverse day/night" option under the options menu. If you reverse the day/night schedule; 8 AM your time will be 8 PM game time.
  • You can leave your little friends alone for a couple of days usually without too many detrimental issues as long as there is enough food in the refrigerator. Should you need to abandon the game longer than 2 days; it's best to pause the game.
  • Let your little friends sleep on their own for a full continuous 6-8 hours at night by quitting and exiting the game for 6-8 continuous hours.
  • You can cycle through some of the behavior options for your little friends by selecting them and then releasing them until you receive the behavior/action you're looking for.
  • Your adult friends have to have a child in order for the game to continue...the game ends when there is no next generation to pass the house and bank account to.
  • It will take several to many generations to complete all the trophies.
  • If you're playing more than one family at a time in the game, your little friends must complete their actions for those actions to take effect before switching to a different family. If your family is in the middle of sitting down to meal and you switch to a different family or exit the game... the family sitting down to a meal will not increase their "fed" level.
  • Virtual Families is a non-linear game; meaning most of the goals don't have to be completed in a specific order.
  • It's recommended to not leave your family without your direction until the house and weeds are picked up; they have plenty of food in the refrigerator and the adults have completed several work cycles.

My Tribe: Tips

General Tips and Hints

  • Trees have to be marked for harvest. If they are not marked for harvest, your tribe will run out of wood while you have the game closed. If they run out of wood, the fire dies. And if the fire dies, the tribe starves to death because they can't cook any food. Always be sure to have lots of trees marked for harvest when you leave the game!

  • You have to mark rocks for harvest, too, but it's not as crucial as wood. You'll just run out of rock and be unable to finish a building project.

  • You can only use rain water for potions while it's raining. To make it rain, make a potion and use it on the ground (fish+sea water+star dust).

  • Making successful potions doesn't take away from the quantity of star dust, moon dust, and golden relics. However, if a potion blows up, you'll lose that catalyst.

  • If you don't make enough huts for your tribe, the people will sleep standing on their feet.

  • The maximum population is 50. Nothing will increase that number.

  • High levels of physical strength make your people move faster.

  • Only use the youth potion on the elderly with gray hair. Otherwise, it won't work and you've used up a potion. Plus, it will be awhile before that person can have another potion.

  • Look for golden relics on the beach when a storm comes.

Libra Key:
----------
Hidden in the ruins on the left side of the land, after you built the stone
bridge to cross the river. Across the river is one set of ruins, then to the
left and south of that is a large briar patch that needs to be removed. Once
the briar patch is removed you need to cut down the large dead tree to get
across the chasm to the last area. There in that last area are the ruins of
the observatory. Once your workers clear that area the Libra Key will appear.
